Garry Davis leapt from Broadway stage to the world stage as “World Citizen #1,” interrupting the United Nations to call for a People’s World Assembly to outlaw war, protect human rights and save life on Earth. His bold protests drew global figures like Einstein and Roosevelt and helped build momentum leading to the UN’s 1948 Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
